Book Review: Hate to Love You

Hate to Love You by Tijan
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Publication Date: August 28th

Rule #1: No hot guys.

It might sound ridiculous. I get it. It kind of is, but college was supposed to be my sanctuary. It was my place to start over. The rumors, the whispers, and the jealousy I endured through high school would all be gone.

No one would know me at college.

Rule #2: No drama.

I’d major in pre-law. I’d make a few loyal friends. Everything would be easy breezy. No one was going to use me or hurt me. I wouldn’t let them.

Rule #3: New year. New place. New me.

And all because of Shay Coleman.

Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk. I hated him on sight . . .

. . . and he was about to break all my rules.

Gripping and Enchanting!!!!!

First words of advice, don’t start reading this book before bedtime. I had to have the will power to put it book down. Honestly it wasn’t my will power it was the power of the pain killer I took that knocked me out.

Another advice, don’t start reading this book if you must go to work, school or have something planned for the next couple hours. Instead wait, find your comfortable space and get ready to be intrigued, captivated, and experience emotions you never thought possible.

I was so excited when I got a copy of this ARC.  After reading the first three chapters of this book I was completely addicted. Kennedy is a breath of fresh air and Shay “OMG” ladies I am in LOVE…. FINE ASS SHAY!!!

There are things that happen in our lives that shape the decisions that we make. Those decisions are to protect us from future hurt. We change in the process and sometimes not for the better and we come off as being a bitch. This was the case with Kennedy. At times, she seemed like a bitch but I still really liked her and connected with her character.

I loved the banter between Shay and Kennedy, it was funny. The chemistry between them were off the charts. I like that Shay wasn’t arrogant and was down to earth.

SHAY as a protector. HOTNESS!!!! YEEESSSS!!!

I love the unexpected events that occurred, you can never guess what is going to happen next. It just hit you and left you spell bound.

The book is well written and characters are well developed. It was another great read. Tijan never disappoints.
