She was once his liar.
He was once her savior.
Cross Donati fills his days with the mafia, family, and responsibility. The wild boy is a distant memory. A waiting prince now sits in his place. An old debt puts the gunrunner right back into the path of his past, but he only sees his future.
Every king needs a queen.
Catherine Marcello learned how to stand on her own, and she no longer needs saving. The sly girl is far more dangerous now. A broken promise taught her how to live again. One conversation puts the hustler face to face with her first love, but she only sees heartache.
Every God needs a prayer.
The scars of their history runs deep. Every lie told, and each secret spilled hurts a little bit more.
Love does not care.
Love will not wait.
So, why does life keep standing in the way?
Revere is A Legacy Novel. While it can be read as a follow up to Always, it can also be read as a standalone novel.
Revere what a perfect follow up to Always. First off if you haven’t read Always then you are missing out.
Cross and Catherine’s (Catty) relationship has been a roller-coaster since “Catty” was fourteen. They were each other’s first love. They were each other’s everything.
Revere picked up seven years later. I enjoyed the back story of major things that happened to both Dante and Catty during that time. It helped the reader to understand why Cross and Catty reacted a certain way to some things.
Cross is still Cross, which I love. He is still a smartass but a lot more level headed. This makes him a lot more dangerous. I find that Sexy as Hell. Is there something wrong with me??!! No. Cross learned a big family secret. The way he found out was just crazy.
There is so much angst in this book. You never see much of it coming.
Catherine grew in this book emotionally. It took some time for her to realize that running or hiding wasn’t always the best thing for her. Catty went through therapy which helped to be stronger. The therapist kept it real with her and did not let her hide. At times I did find myself frustrated with Catty. Like girl when you will you learn!!!
Once Catty decided to be brave and truthful with her family, you see her starting to grow. It was an eye opener to see that if both parents and child were truthful with each other, a lot of pain could have possible been avoided. The reality of the situation, it’s just better to be truthful. Whatever the consequences it’s much better than lying.
The love between Cross and Catty just shows that once you have found the ONE, nothing will stop the inevitable.
Throughout the book I got angry, sad, cried (happy tears) and laughed. What is a good book if you cannot experience any emotions while reading it.
Honestly can you tell that I enjoyed it? It is well written, gripping, memorable, engaging and a page-turner. Enjoy the read!!!!!
